UPDATE FROM GRETA: No further donations or spreading of the word are necessary. This fundraiser has been a success: I’ve raised enough to comfortably cover my mortgage and other expenses for a few months, while I recover my health and get my writing and speaking career revved up again afterwards. Effusive, gushing, heartfelt thanks can be read here. If you just heard about this fundraiser and are moved to make a donation, please make one to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Light the Night Walk via the Foundation Beyond Belief, or to Camp Quest. Thanks.
Glad we could help, Greta.
Immediately after the loss of her father, Greta Christina has been hit with a double whammy: she’s been diagnosed with cancer.
The prognosis is good, but she will have to spend some time in recovery instead of doing her regular indefatigable circuit of talks, so she’s asking for a little help from her friends.
Greta’s been a big inspiration to me and many other people with her clear, articulate calls for social justice in the LGBT and atheist communities. I’d like to think we could support such a great voice (and really nice person) in her time of need.
