Over on the right you’ll see a widget to chip in to help the kids of Kasese Humanist Primary School in Uganda get a chicken coop. You’ll be helping some underprivileged kids in a poor African country feed themselves while they get educated in a non-religious environment. Uganda definitely needs alternatives to religiously based schooling – this is a land famous a couple of years back for child sacrifices by witch doctors.
So please, chip in for this little opportunity to help them help feed themselves.
I’d also like to remind everyone that I’m still collecting for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Everything raised will be matched by the Stiefel Freethought Foundation via Foundation Beyond Belief up to $500,000. I also have another match from the Bosch Fair Share Fund for the first $500, of which $100 is still left at the time of writing.
Finally, if you just don’t have any bucks to spare, could you maybe spare some clicks to The Hunger Site? That’s the permanently featured widget over on the right. It’s a collection of eight worthy causes, with companies donating food to the hungry (at the eponymous page) in return for a moment of exposure to ads at the site, plus mammograms for women who can’t afford them otherwise, care for shelter animals, meals for homeless and hungry veterans, autism therapy, general cmedical care for sick children, literacy outreach and rainforest preservation. All you do is go there and click a few times – you’ve got a few minutes, yeah?
Thanks, folks!
