Going To The Big Double-Header!!

In case you hadn’t heard, there’s a huge multi-organizational Reason Rally happening in Washington DC on March 24 2012:

The Reason Rally

The speaker lineup is incredible: Richard Dawkins, PZ Myers, Taslima Nasrim, James Randi, Greta Christina, Jamila Bey, Hemant Mehta and many more… not to mention a free concert by Bad Religion!

Better yet, the two days following the Reason Rally and just a short Metro ride away is the American Atheists National Convention, with even more speakers (quite a few double-hitters too of course).

American Atheists

While the Reason Rally is free, the American Atheists convention costs $179 (unless you’re a student, in which case $30 with your student ID). I am going to both though, and am already feeling pretty excited about it! The Reason Rally in particular is going to be huge, being supported by a genuine slew of godless organizations:

American Atheists
American Humanist Association
Atheist Alliance of America
Camp Quest
Center for Inquiry
Freethought Society
Military Atheists and Freethinkers
National Atheist Party
Secular Coalition for America
Secular Student Alliance
Society for Humanistic Judaism
Stiefel Freethought Foundation
The Brights
The James Randi Educational Foundation
The Richard Dawkins Foundation
United COR
Washington Area Secular Humanists

Mark my words, that weekend is going to be pivotal in the history of the freethought movement. I would strongly encourage all my heathen friends to make an effort to be there for the Reason Rally at least!

Being a somewhat reclusive para-atheist (my own word) I will not be attending the Double Header, but I do thank you for the list of “godless organization” each of which I will soon visit.

    You’re welcome, Gene, enjoy! :)
